Greene, Maine
Kennebec county. Greene has several ponds, but no good mill privileges. It lies on the E. side of Androscoggin river, 6 miles above Lewiston and 22 S.W. from Augusta. It is an excellent farming town, and produced, in 1837, 3,278 bushels of wheat. Incorporated, 1788. Population, 1837, 1,366.
