Stark, New Hampshire

Coos county. This town was named Piercy until a few years since. It was then altered to compliment the memory of Gen. Stark. It contains about 20,000 acres, most of which is broken and extremely uneven. It was settled in 1788, but the progress of the settlement has been very slow. Population, 236. It lies 10 miles N.E. from Lancaster.
