Carver, Massachusetts
Plymouth county. Set off from Plymouth in 1790. Population, 1837, 990. 38 miles S.E. from Boston, and 8 S.W. by S. from Plymouth. There are a number of pleasant ponds in this town. The soil is not very productive. The manufactures of Carver consist of iron castings, boots, shoes, boxes, and willow baskets; annual amount about $50,000.
