Quinebaug River, New England

This beautiful stream rises in Mashapaug pond in Union, Ct. It passes N. to Brimfield, Mass., then a S.E. course through Thompson, Ct., where it receives French river from the north. It then traverses a S. direction about 30 miles, affording fertility and a great hydraulic power in its course, when it joins the Shetucket, near the city of Norwich, and takes the name of that river to the Yantic. These three streams form the Thames.
