Cobbessecontee Waters, Maine
The pond is a fine sheet of water, lying W. of Hallowell, and connected with smaller ponds in Monmouth, Winthrop, Readfield and Mount Vernon. The outlet of the pond is a river of the same name, which passes into a beautiful pond we see on the stage road in Richmond, and empties into the Kennebec at Gardiner. These waters afford a great hydraulic power, an abundance of fish, and much delightful scenery.
