St. Francois River, Maine
Or the Pecheenegamook, rises in the county of Piscataquis, on the border of Canada. It has a number of tributaries and receives the waters of several lakes. It is about 50 miles in length, and, passing nearly south, falls into the river St. John, on the line of Penobscot county.
